The art of law

This week, we’re bringing you something completely different! Wakefields have re-purposed our walls to provide a space for local artists to display and sell their work.

Our first featured artist is Polly Gilroy, a final year Fine Arts student from Massey University.

Polly’s art practice has evolved through a rigorous process based exploration; drawing from a multiplicity of  artistic traditions from painting, sculpture, installation and sewing. Her conceptual ideas are distinguished by a colour scheme made up of rarefied light and atmospheres.

Fundamentally Polly’s concepts rely on stripping back materials and objects to highlight their aesthetic potential. Works that she intends to stand out for their cold environmental like colours. They are cohesive with the cold studio they inhabit, accompanying the viewer towards an evocative atmosphere and seemingly aseptic, emotionless light.

Come check it out!

You are absolutely welcome to pop into our offices to check out Polly’s work in person. All pieces are available for purchase (0% commission). We’re at Level 7, 90 The Terrace, Wellington and open from 8:30am to 5pm weekdays.

You can see more of Polly’s work on her instagram: @pollygilroyart
